Center for Disabilities is South Dakota's university center for developmental disabilities education, research and service. Children's Care Hospital & School is the state's only hospital for children with disabilities based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. South Dakota Advocacy Services protects and advocates the rights of South Dakotans with disabilities through legal, administrative, and other remedies. South Dakota Parent Connection empowers families caring for children with disabilities with knowledge and supports to participate fully in the planning and delivery of quality educational services. SD Achieve finds innovative ways for people with disabilities to achieve their dreams.

The ARC of the United States Home Page offers fact sheets, links to local pages, and more. The National Organization on Disability provides information and resources. Disability Resources on the Internet offers a search capability. National Information Center for Children & Youth with Disabilities offers information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals. The National Parent Network on Disabilities (NPND) provides a national voice for all families of developmentally disabled persons.
